Aloha, possums! (Channeling my Dame Edna here). Today was my last day of work experience, and although the morning went excruciatingly slow, but the afternoon went pretty quickly that I'm just sitting here just going 'LOL WHAT HAPPENED'.
So basically, I'm just going to try and blog this out, so I can figure out what happened and process it all. Okay? Kay.
So, I got to the chemist this morning, totally ready to start working - not really. I was tired as heck and my hot drink was too hot to chug down and it was almost nine and everything. So I walked around like a zombie (and I was reminded of this plenty of times), and did so in this fashion until lunch. During this time, my supervisor called me, and addressed me as 'Pam'. Let's just say I was extremely weirded out by it, but at least she apologised and said "I don't even know where I got that name, to be honest." BUT STILL.
Even though it was my final day, you can obviously tell I am still extremely intimidated by her, but more on this later if I remember.
When she announced it was lunch, I bolted to get my bag. My friend laughed. I'm not even regretting that; I was just extremely hungry and I needed to sit down like right then and there. Possibly take a nap.
Anyway, lunch was chips and gravy (cue your salivary glands to start working) and chicken schnizel that was larger than my head. I am not kidding. I made sure. It was amazing and I was full, so we had to go buy a card for the staff at the chemist to say thank you. My friend had bought truffles that morning ("For only five bucks - they were on sale," she said with glee), so we needed a card to accompany it.
She was aiming for a $1 card. She started clapping when she found out they were 80 cents each. My other friend and I just laughed at her and called her a cheapskate because reasons.
Anyway, we got back a little bit late because card problems (it didn't want to come out of the plastic and the 'cheapskate' friend suggested we write on the plastic - she's an idiot LOL), but then we got back to work shelving and all that jazz. My second friend, the one who's not an idiot, had this priceless look on her face when we were told to add dividers into the vitamin section. We laughed.
Basically, I did a lot of laughing in the afternoon.
Anyway, we divided for ages, and then our supervisor announced that it was time for my friend whom I fondly think is an idiot to go home since she left half an hour before us. Our planning on how to give them our present was thrown out the window so I just hastily announced "Oh, this is for, um, you guys."
My supervisor took it and said thanks, and then she looked at us like, "Who's this from..." and we were all like, well duh, all of us. And then she looked at us like we put a bomb in it and told me and my other friend to meet her when we were done.
Honestly. We're good people. I don't understand why us giving someone chocolate could be assumed to think Oh God they've put poison in it.
So half an hour passed, and we packed up and got ready to go home, and she gave us our pay ($20. THE FRUIT OF OUR LABOUR.) as well as a Natio gift pack, which is some expensive stuff, lemme tell you. I know this because I've shelved it a couple of times. We said thank you obviously, and then our supervisor was like, "Tash..." And I turned around for two reasons.

I know this because I've shelved it a couple of times. We said thank you obviously, and then our supervisor was like, "Tash..." And I turned around for two reasons.
- My supervisor called me Tash. I didn't think my Tash Aura worked on her considering the strange names she'd called me all week.
- She then pulled out a box with Versace written on it and then said, "You were the best this week. Well done."
While I stood there, rather befuddled (I mean really, how could I have been the best), she then addressed my other friend: "You weren't the best, but keep trying!"
She didn't seem too fazed by this, my other friend, but I literally just stood there going, "whAT JUST HAPPENED."
Anyway, I met up with my mum, and she took me to a clothes shop. This cute little girl was trying on One Direction jumpers and I had this massive smile on my face because she was so happy, but it was a little worrying because she was so young. But it was obvious that having that jumper was giving her as much positivity that I get while seeing photosets on Tumblr, so who was I to complain?
I then bought an awesomesauce dress because you know, I could.
Because I'm awesome, and I was just like: got a lot of stuff. ~*loltxtit*~, I took a picture of what I got today.
Yes, I even included the $20 note I got. But that's because I earned it, okay.
And so that's what happened to me today, and that was a longer blog post than expected! I think, when all's said and done, as much as I don't miss the long hours and the tedious task of shelving, I will miss most of the people and the satisfaction it gave me when I finished the task.
I think... that's all for now. I'm hungry, so I'll be scouring the kitchen for food. I might be doing something interesting tomorrow (maybe being the keyword), so until then!
Yours in weirdness,
Tash.
(P.S. I would like to say, although I call my friend an idiot, know that I do so knowing that she is one of my close friends and I don't think she's completely stupid. She's idiotic so she makes me laugh.)
(P.P.S. I just realised, in exactly one month, I'll be sixteen. Welpazoids.)
